"Se trata de un panel compuesto por cuatro piezas de piedra arenisca, perfectamente encajadas entre sí. Su labra denota una espléndida ejecución. Según Arturo Zaragozá se representa en él un losange cuatribarrado coronado (el escudo del reino) protegido por un águila imperial bicéfala y coronada. La inscripción recuerda la reconstrucción de la torre vigía en 1554, siendo virrey de Valencia el Duque de Maqueda. La leyenda del cartucho inferior, **SIEMBRA ALARMA Y PROTÉGEME**, hace alusión a la misión de vigilancia a la que estaba destinada la torre. La disposición del panel empotrado en la pared de mampostería denota que fue incorporado tras la construcción de la torre."
